HOVERAir's Ski Mode is built for skiing and snowboarding. Its tracking algorithm is optimized specifically for skier/snowboarder movements and snowy terrain, keeping pace on every turn and descent. The image quality is fine-tuned for snow conditions, and the Follow Sensitivity setting lets you easily adjust the side-to-side responsiveness to match your style.
If HOVERAir loses visual tracking, you can connect to the X1 app to activate manual control within a range of 100 feet (30 meters). If you are using the Beacon, simply long-press the Fn button on the right side to recall the device to your current location.
The Follow Sensitivity setting allows you to customize HOVERAir's responsiveness. Set it High for a fast, agile response, or set it Low for stabler footage that minimizes side-to-side movement.
While a water-resistant coating has been applied to the internal components, the X1 PRO and PROMAX are not fully waterproof. However, with OmniTerrain activated, they can safely fly over snow and cliffs. We recommend using Ski Stickers to prevent snow powder from entering the device.
Note: Always remove the stickers after cold-weather use to prevent overheating in warmer conditions.
Yes. The HOVERAir's fully enclosed frame makes it one of the safest flying cameras for use near people. However, always respect others and check your resort's specific drone policies before flying.
Ski Mode's tracking algorithm is specifically optimized for skiing and snowboarding. Should the device crash into the snow, you'll likely need to walk up the slope or ski down the same route to recover it. If you have purchased the Beacon, we recommend always using the Beacon when skiing. It provides real-time disconnection notifications and quick access to the Locate My HOVER feature (Scroll down from the top - Select Hover - Select Find Hover - Select View HOVER's Location). You can also activate a recovery beeping sound via the X1 App/Beacon (HOVER Settings - Voice Settings - Toggle on Find My HOVER).
We definitely recommend using the Thermo Smart Battery if you are filming winter sports. It's specifically designed for cold-weather conditions and functions down to -4°F (-20°C), while the standard Smart Battery is better suited for temperatures above 32°F(0°C). The Thermo Battery provides the same 16-minute flight time and intelligent battery management system as the standard Smart Battery.
