FAQ
HOVERAir flying cameras are ultra-portable and weigh less than 250g, making them perfect for international travel. Drones under 249g can be flown without additional licensing in many countries, but you are responsible for reviewing local drone regulations, no-fly zones, and insurance requirements before you fly. When traveling, be sure to pack the batteries in your carry-on luggage and store them securely.
Yes. With OmniTerrain activated, the HOVERAir X1 PRO and PROMAX can safely fly over snow, water, and cliffs. Both models can take off at altitudes up to 5,500 m (~18,000 ft), ascend to around 120 m (~400 ft), and operate in temperatures as low as –20 °C (–4 °F) when equipped with the Thermo Smart Battery.
Please remember that with OmniTerrain off, all X1 models rely on bottom visual sensors for stabilization. If OmniTerrain is off, you must fly over well textured ground. Please avoid flying over water, reflective poorly textured ground, or over areas with large elevation differences.
Notes:
– The X1 model does not support OmniTerrain and is not recommended for use over snow, water, or cliffs.
– When flying over water, maintain a minimum altitude of 1.5 m (5 ft) to prevent potential damage.
– Maximum flight height is subject to local regulations.
You can activate Manual Control using the X1 app or the Beacon & JoyStick.
- X1 App: Connect the flying camera to the X1 App > Hover > Manual Control
- Beacon & Joysticks:
Connect the Beacon to the flying camera.
Attach the right JoyStick to enable one-handed motion control.
Attach both right and left JoySticks to unlock the two-handed controller. In two-handed mode, you can use your phone as a smart display for a more immersive flight experience.
For the X1 PRO and PROMAX, the maximum video transmission range is up to 1 km when used with the Beacon and JoyStick.
For the X1 model, the maximum range is 50 meters.
Note: Actual range may vary depending on environmental conditions.
HOVERAir X1 PRO and PROMAX are equipped with rear collision detection sensors to help avoid obstacles during flight. The X1 PRO features a ToF (Time-of-Flight) sensor that detects obstacles behind the device at speeds up to 1.5 m/s. The X1 PROMAX adds a rear vision sensor, allowing it to detect obstacles at higher speeds—up to 3 m/s.
